These large sandstone boulders range from 15 to 25 feet in height. They lie just off both sides of Bear Creek Road under a dense forest canopy of old growth hemlock and Douglas-fir. Because the area is shadowed in the trees routes require annual maintenance. There are two established 20 to 25 foot crack climbs at the boulders ranging from 5.9 to 5.10a. While in the area some of the recommended stops are the Lighthouse Baker and one of the many wineries located in the vicinity of Umpqua.
